Chapter 10 Summary

Larkin enters Blair's room without permission, both knowing a fight is brewing. They argue; Blair because she believes Larkin is repulsed by what she is. Larkin admits he expected the plan to burn the outlying villages to come from Cian. Blair interprets that as Larkin classifying her as a monster. They begin to fight physically, but it quickly changes to strong sexual desire and they make wild, passionate love. Blair enjoys the sex, but is puzzled by Larkin, by how he can be so angry with her and still feel affection for her. He asks where she is hiding, accusing her of withdrawing whenever she feels emotionally threatened. Larkin persists, reaching a place inside Blair she did not know existed, and this confuses her.
