Sunset Strip
The Sunset Strip is a street in Los Angeles that was populated by nightclubs in the 1970s. When Daisy Jones was a young teen, she began sneaking out of her house to visit these clubs, even though she was underage, and this is where she learned about music and decided she wanted to be a rock star. When the Six arrived in Los Angeles, they played at clubs on the Sunset Strip, including one called the Whisky, and this is where they were discovered by Teddy Price, a producer at Runner Records. Daisy recalls of her teen years: "I wasn't old enough to get into any of the bars and clubs but I went anyway...I wanted to fit in with the groupies on the sidewalk, with their joints and their flasks and all of that" (8).
