Summary

“The Nanny” follows a 24-year-old woman named Kayla. Kayla is temporarily living in the California home of Mary, an old college friend of Kayla’s mother. Kayla recently worked as a nanny for a famous actor named Rafe. Kayla’s job was to babysit Henry, the young son of Rafe and Jessica—Rafe’s wife. Kayla and Rafe began having an affair, and after Jessica found out, Kayla was fired. Kayla hopes that Rafe will remain in touch with her and will want to continue their relationship. Kayla had enjoyed babysitting Henry, although she sometimes felt wistful as she thought about the creative and academic interests that she had not felt since college. She very much enjoyed her affair with Rafe, and she even felt love for him, although she sometimes felt emotional distance from him.
