Act 1, Part 4 Summary
The discovery of one of Da's keepsakes makes Charlie remember a time in his childhood when he and Da had gone out to play with the family dog. We see this memory play out, and as they walk among the hills, Da tells (Adult) Charlie a story about how the devil himself had visited that particular cliff. This leads Charlie to tell Da that he's not afraid of the devil so much as he's afraid of his birth mother coming and taking him away. He says that his aunt had told him that what Da had said about his birth mother wasn't true. Da tells Charlie that he never told him a lie, tells him his mother works in the lighthouse cooking for the lighthouse keeper, and says that if she ever shows her face she'll get the boot, adding that...
