Broken Door

The play opens with Wesley picking up the pieces of the door that his father broke down the night before.

Mexico

Both Weston and Emma mention their desire to go to Mexico. Emma wants to go to become a mechanic until she can write a novel, and it is suggested Weston flee to Mexico to avoid the men to whom he owes money.

The Kitchen Table

The kitchen table is present for all three acts in the play. During the second Act, Weston passes out on top of it, and when he wakes up he feels like a new person. Ella is convinced to nap on the table as well so perhaps the same thing will happen to her.
