Summary
Wesley gets into an argument with his mother about how poor they are, and she tells him they will have more money very soon. Since Weston has just been fired for his job, Wesley cannot see how this is true. His mother admits they will have enough money to leave and visit Europe.
Wesley asks his mother where she plans to get the money to go to Europe, and she relents, telling him that she has a lawyer friend named Taylor who is helping her with the negotiations for selling their house and tractor as well as the orchard and the land itself. She says all of it will fetch a good price because it can be turned into items that people will be interested in buying. Wesley is not pleased by this and tells Ella she’s crazy.
