Point of View
The point of view is third person. The point of view shows the story mostly through Killashandra's eyes. However, there are quite a few times when the narration gives the impression of the authorial voice, in which the author will suggest knowledge of events that have not yet happened. There is also a point at which the narrator appears to be unreliable. Killashandra runs into a captain that she is good friends with after she becomes a crystal singer and she cannot remember his name. She does, however, correctly recall the name of his ship, tipping the reader off that she is dealing with the same captain who was once a friend.
