Chapters 6-7 Summary

Chapter 6. Killashandra is taken to the infirmary, but she does not want to be treated because she does not feel ill. All Killashandra wants is to find out how her friends are doing. The doctor, Antona, encourages Killashandra to settle in her room and try to relax. Killashandra finds a way to watch the vital signs of the others in the infirmary and becomes deeply upset when the vital signs for the patient in the room next to Rimbol's suddenly stops. Killashandra learns that Carigana has died. Antona tells her later that she believes Carigana died because she was resistant to the symbiont. Antona then tells Killashandra that she has had what is called a Milekey transition, and there is no reason for her to be in the infirmary.
