Pgs. 710 - 764 Summary
Shaftoe is working with a man named Pedro in the Philippines. They are told to meet the submarine, Tarpon, where they pick-up a transmitter. Bobby travels to Concepcion on his own and finds the others with the transmitter did not survive the trip, having been caught and executed by the Japanese. He hides with Glory's relatives and finds that she gave birth to a boy named Douglas MacArthur Shaftoe on September 13, 1942. He eventually reaches Manila.
Randy arrives on Kinakuta City and is met by John Cantrell. They talk about what has happened at the Crypt and at Ordo. Randy writes notes to Cantrell about his phone conversation on the plane.
