Pgs. 529 - 590 Summary

A German U-boat arrives in Norrsbruck. Bischoff grabs his gear and heads for the pier and Shaftoe helps him carry his gear. This is all part of the plan devised by Rudy, Bobby, Enoch and Gunter. The U-boat departs. There is a general delivery envelop for Bobby from Bischoff full of German naval intelligence documents. Root tells Bobby that he has to leave because Julieta's friend Otto betrayed him to the Germans, and they will come for him. They assemble a Russian gun to be prepared. A car full of Germans arrive and Bobby and Enoch open fire. Root is shot in the exchange of fire. Root marries Julieta before going to surgery. He does not survive. Bobby leaves for Manila.
