Summary
Lamb negotiates with her senior officers through messages and is given five more days on her mission.
As soon as Lamb is finished messaging, she learns Barrow is coming. When Lamb sees his face she knows something is wrong and orders her soldiers to scatter. Barrow warns her there is no time to collect supplies. Lamb hears that the men coming for them have dogs and she tells Tristan and Barrow, who have stayed with her, to get to water so that the dogs will lose their scent. Tristan tells Lamb to run for a nearby creek while he will distract the men and dogs by running for the river.
Barrow stays with Lamb and he forces her to look at him. She notices how strangely calm he is. He presses against her and she feels a nauseating tilting. Suddenly she...
