Summary
Becky rushed to First Reformed to see Tanner. Inside, she encountered Kim Perkins and David Goya. They immediately involved Becky in their argument. They wanted to know if she thought the concert was "a public event" or "a Crossroads activity" (259). If it was the former, they could smoke and drink while there. If it was the latter, they could only smoke and drink before arriving. Becky had no interest in the debate, but weighed in anyway. When they moved outside to smoke, they invited Becky to join. She found herself following. Smoking weed flooded "the same nerves that kissing Tanner had lit up the night before" (262). Becky felt as if she were experiencing things she never knew she could. When Laura joined the group, Becky felt anxious and fell into a bush. Then Sally realized that Becky had been the one hiding...
