Point of View

The novel is told in the first person point of view. The novel has two narrators. The book begins through the eyes of Ky, an Aberration who has been sent to the Outer Provinces where he fights daily to survive. Ky’s narration trades off evenly with that of his girlfriend, Cassia. Cassia is a Citizen of the Society who fell in love with Ky while he was living in her borough with his aunt and uncle. Ky taught Cassia to read and write, showing her a world she never knew existed.
