Summary

Chapter 45

The group pushes on until they reach the river. Ky sets the boat down and begins filling it with air. Ky then tells Cassia he took it for her and she should choose which other person she wants to go with her.

Cassia chooses Eli.

Chapter 47

Cassia chooses Eli and Indie to take the boat, but Eli would rather go to the farmers with Hunter. Ky encourages Cassia to take the boat with Indie. He promises to follow on foot.

Chapter 48

Cassia and Ky say goodbye.

Chapter 49

Ky takes Cassia’s books that she took from the farmers’ cave in order to keep them safe. He also shows her a vial Eli stole from the cavern with her grandfather’s name on it.

Chapter 50

Cassia and Indie travel down the river. The river is rough, and they overturn at one point...
