Bonita, Texas

Bonita, Texas is where Pitch and his family are from. After he and Justine marry, they move here with Reney from Oklahoma. They live near Pitch's parents, Ferrell and Nina. The Bonita landscape is harsh and unforgiving, and defined by frequent destructive storms. Though Justine travels back and forth between Texas and Oklahoma, she spends the majority of her adult life in Bonita. When Reney is a young woman, she also ends up settling here, against her own expectations. She lives with Wes on his ranch and works at Dairy Queen. Eventually, tired of her life, she leaves Wes and Bonita for good. Justine does not leave until Pitch disappears, and she must return to Beulah Springs to be with Lula before her death.
