Summary
Pepper and Pope arrive at Quincy’s expensive lodgings, and Quincy invites them inside, congratulating Pope on his recent success. Quincy requests that they take off their shoes and Pepper refuses to do so. When Quincy orders his bodyguard, Pickles, to attack Pepper, Pepper quickly defeats him and sits Quincy down on a couch. Quincy proceeds to explain that Lucinda stopped by a couple nights earlier asking for some Valium, which he supplied her. He also makes reference to the fact that Lucinda is associated with Chink Montague, who used to date her. Pepper leaves, allowing Pope and Quincy to catch up with each other.
After headbutting Pope, Pepper realizes he has a headache; he goes home and sleeps it off. When he leaves again to meet Zippo, he comes across the ribbon-cutting for a new tenement construction...
