Summary
In the late 1960s, a man from New York City named Ray Carney bows out of the stolen goods trade. In order to make ends meet after exiting the criminal underworld, Carney opens up a furniture store. Tensions within the Black community in New York begin to rise as the Black Liberation Army begins working within the criminal underworld to attack policemen and store owners. By 1971, the riots cause Carney to lose sales, and his daughter May begins begging him for tickets to see The Jackson 5. Carney calls an old contact of his on the police force, Munson, and asks him for the favor of the tickets, an exchange that pulls Carney back into the game.
Carney meets Munson at his headquarters. Munson shows Carney a bag of jewelry that he needs Carney to sell for him, and Carney tries to decline...
