Summary

In Chapter 7, the wedding guests board ferries for Colin and Araminta’s wedding banquet. On one of the ferries, Astrid runs into Charlie Wu, the man she broke her engagement to several years prior. The two catch up on each other’s lives while Astrid thinks regretfully about how poorly she treated Charlie in the past. The ferries arrive at an island boasting of a cathedral-shaped building where the banquet is to take place. Once she catches a glimpse of Astrid, Araminta fumes over Astrid’s traditional Chinese dress and says that the whole point of this wedding was to see what couture pieces Astrid would wear. Meanwhile, Oliver approaches Kitty at the banquet, trying to sabotage her relationship with Alistair. Oliver tells Kitty that Alistair’s parents are not rich, nor will Alistair ever be rich.
