Summary

In Chapter 16, Rachel’s best friend from college, Peik Lin, comes to pick her up at the hotel. Peik is a loud girl with a bold, gaudy sense of style. Peik briefly meets Nick before whisking Rachel away to her family’s house for lunch. Rachel is in awe of the Goh family’s palatial residence, noticing that every inch of the house seems to be dripping with gold.
