Summary

In Chapter 1, Nick Young and his girlfriend, Rachel Chu, are having coffee at a coffee shop in New York City. Both Nick and Rachel are professors at New York University and have been dating for two years. Nick tells Rachel that his best friend, Colin Khoo, is getting married this summer in Nick’s hometown of Singapore, and Nick wants Rachel to accompany him to the wedding. He wants to make it an entire summer trip so that he can show Rachel where he grew up. The couple is overheard by Celine Lim, who cannot believe that she has run into the notorious Nick Young. Celine has a flashback to when her older sister, Charlotte, had a crush on Nick and tried to make him fall for her. Celine snaps back to the present moment of the chapter and realizes her sister...
