Chapter Eight Summary and Analysis
In this chapter, Chan spells out a description of an obsessed Christian. As with the other assertions that he has made about Christ and Christian living, Chan backs up the characteristics of these obsessed people with examples taken from scripture.
In this chapter, Chan says that obsessed people are able to give freely and openly, even to those who will never be able or want to return their kindnesses. He writes that those who are obsessed will care more about God's kingdom than their own personal safety. Chan writes that he believes that Jesus intends for Christians to live lives that are in some way connected to the poor.
