Book One: Chapters 21-30 Summary
In America, Les Porter, a journalist from the New York Daily News, has heard about Kathleen and Colleen's unusual situations and seeks confirmation from the Vatican and the Archdiocese. Upon receiving this, he publishes Kathleen's condition on the front page of the newspaper. The publicity is not healthy for the Church, or for either of the girls who are already viewed with intense scrutiny. In Rome, Pope Pius XIII is dying. During his last moments, he recalls his recent conversations with Father Rosetti. He also recalls that day, long ago, when the Blessed Lady visited Fatima. At the time he was a young child accompanying his father. On October 13, 1917, the Virgin Mary's presence was witnessed by many, and her words were interpreted by three children.
