Samson Hunts Alone AKA Samuel Hunter
Samson Hunts Alone is a Crow Indian who lives on the reservation in Montana. He is ashamed of his uncle and his heritage. Sam flees from the Crow reservation in 1973 after pushing a police officer over a cliff into the dam wall two hundred feet below. In Santa Barbara, he changes his name to Samuel Hunter and becomes a successful insurance salesman. His uncle is Pokey Medicine Wing, and his spirit guide is Old Man Coyote. Sam meets and falls in love with Calliope as Old Man Coyote ruins his life in Santa Barbara. Ultimately, Sam returns to Crow Country where he embraces his heritage and marries Calliope.
