Section 10: ch. 25-26 Summary
In "Wheels, Deals and the Persistence of Visions", the twenty-fifth chapter, Calliope tries to sleep in her car but gets scared when some young thugs approach. She speeds off, going faster when a policeman follows her. Lonnie yells at Cheryl to clean up after Grubb when he sees his son urinate on the drugs. When Cheryl complains about their vacation, Lonnie aims a pistol at her head. The police officer pursues Calliope, but a black Mercedes blocks his path. There is no driver, and a skunk sprays the officer in the face when he goes to examine the car. He hears laughter as the Mercedes speeds away.
