Summary
In Chapter 45, Eleanor and Cam’s anniversary was six months after Toby’s accident. Eleanor, who was out of town, called her children, but did not speak to Cam.
When Eleanor returned home, Cam took her to the bedroom where he had replastered the walls. He also gave her a small burl bowl that would hold a pair of earrings. Even though the plaster and the bowl were beautiful, all Eleanor noticed was that the bowl was empty. She was so angry she could not appreciate what he had done for her.
