Tom Benecke’s Apartment
Tom Benecke’s apartment is where the story begins. Benecke is in the living room working on his project. When he says goodbye to his wife, he opens the faulty window, and his research floats out the window. When he manages to retrieve it, the sheet immediately flies out once more.
The Apartment’s Window Ledge
The window ledge is where most of the story takes place. The yellow sheet gets stuck on the corner of the apartment building, so Benecke must climb onto the ledge and retrieve it. On the ledge, Benecke struggles with fear, and he attempts to balance priorities between his job and his love life.
