Summary
Chapter 6:
Jack breaks into Wild’s office, finding himself in what was once a laboratory for Evans. He finds a document analyzing human chimera that Evans had been writing, one that examined the anatomy of a captured pirate and discovered that, among other things, the genitalia of the ostensibly female pirate were similarly enlarged to those of other chimera. He also tells a story of how a relationship between a primarily female chimera and her servant evolved into freedom for the servant on the condition that she continue to serve the chimera’s “Obscene Faucet” (265). The servant, Evans says in his document, agreed, and the former mistress and servant engaged in an intense relationship that included sharing all of their bodily fluids, including urine. He theorizes that the “in-between-ness” of the chimera, and of other chimeras (266) was the result of regular consumption...
