Chapters 6-10 Summary
In chapter six, Becky moves forward with her plans of saving money, refusing to be discouraged by her spending of the day before. Packing a lunch and heading to work, Becky is pleased with herself until lunch hour arrives and she has nothing to fill her time.
Deciding to head to Smith's and copy a curry recipe, Becky heads to the shops, thrilled just to be near the hustle and bustle. At Smith's, Becky assists a woman who is looking for ideas for a gift then covertly begins copying a recipe. A shop clerk interrupts her and Becky inadvertently marks the book with her pen. When the clerk insists on calling the manager, Becky is flustered and simply buys the book, already spending more than she has planned for the day.
That evening, Suze's cousins, Fenella and Tarquin arrive to celebrate...
