Summary

Chapter 21 is titled “Auburn.” Auburn is shocked to learn what Owen has done to protect his father and that Trey knew the drugs did not belong to Owen when he made the arrest. She realizes she has “been trying to see the good in Trey, but I'm starting to question if he even has any good in him” (265). Owen apologizes for not telling the truth sooner. By the time he knew about AJ, it was too late to deny ownership of the drugs. Owen believes their best course of action now is to unite to keep Trey from wielding power over them.
