Summary

This section is titled Part Two. Chapter 15 is titled “Auburn.” Owen has been in jail four weeks. Trey talked to Lydia as he promised. The result is that she comes over often to put AJ to bed, and Lydia does not complain. Trey holds Auburn's hand as they return to the living room. Lydia notices but does not comment. She also did not comment after Trey took Auburn out on a date. Auburn feels guilty that her feelings for Trey are not changing. She also feels guilty that she told Trey that Owen's cat is a cat named Sparkles that belongs to Emory. Auburn has come to realize Lydia resented the time Adam wanted to spend with Auburn. She worries how Lydia will react if she does begin a formal relationship with Trey that does not work out. Trey has kissed her once...
