Summary

Chapter 7 is titled “Auburn.” Three weeks have passed, and Auburn has not heard Owen him at all. On her 21st birthday, she is supposed to meet Lydia who also fails to show. On the way home, Auburn writes a confession on a receipt that she met a great guy who made her happy, ending with “YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE, OWEN” (97). She pushes the message through a slot in the door before she can change her mind. She considers changing her route between work and home in the future to keep from passing the gallery.
