Summary
In Chapter 18, Tsukuru spends a couple more days in Finland, as planned. When he gets home, he phones Sara. She doesn't answer and doesn't call back for awhile. When she does call, she says she's been shopping. Tsukuru says he wants to ask her something but he's obviously nervous about it. She urges him to say what's on his mind. He says he has the feeling that she's seeing someone else. She doesn't answer and he says he isn't criticizing her, even if she is, but that he wants to know. Sara says he has been honest with her and that she wants to be honest in return, but she asks for a little time before she answers. He agrees to wait three days for her response.
