Sequence Five Summary
This sequence consists of four long story poems.
In Poem Sixteen, the lady in green says someone walked off with all her "stuff." At first, it seems as though she's talking about things, but then is becomes clear she speaks of herself. All the aspects of her body, from her hair down to her toes, are hers, she say, and she deserves to have them back. She says that a loverran off with her stuff, putting her into a plastic bag under his arm. She says she's got a right to have her stuff to do the things she wants with her stuff, and she's the only one who can truly handle it.
Poem Seventeen allow the ladies to share about the emptiness of the words "I'm sorry." They describe the different ways it's used, mostly by lovers who try to...
