Chapters 25-28 Summary

Chapter 25. Maeve tells Dresden that Mab's plan has to do with Demonreach, which disturbs Dresden. He now fully regrets the deal he made with Mab. Maeve assures Dresden she has examined Mab and found her infected, and that the disease is real. Maeve points to recent events as proof. Lily and Maeve say they cannot fight her themselves, because they lack the power. Titania the Summer Queen refuses; Maeve says it's because she's afraid of becoming infected. Dresden doubts his power, but Maeve and Lily assure him that as Winter Knight he can do it. Maeve confesses that her ulterior motive is that she wants to be Winter Queen, which gives Dresden pause. He doesn't want to serve Maeve. She knows that he will have to act, though, to save the mortal world. Dresden demands to know what else they aren't...
