Chapters 1-4 Summary
Cold Days: A Novel of the Dresden Files, first published in 2012, is the fourteenth book in the best-selling Dresden Files Series. The author was born in 1971 in Independence, Missouri, and still lives there with his family. The Dresden Files was made into a television series that ran for one season in 2007.
Chapter 1. Harry Dresden wakes up in the stronghold of Faery Queen Mab, Arctis Tor, recovering from his near-death and subsequent coma. He is being nursed by a changeling, Sarissa, and has been semi-conscious for some time. He is now the Winter Knight, in the employ of Queen Mab. When he's fully recovered mentally, Queen Mab visits his bedside. She tries to suffocate him with a pillow, and he escapes. This becomes a routine and goes on for 77 days.
