Summary
In Eighteen, "It Was All So Magnificent, Yet...," Aethon flies around the city eating whatever he pleases. He feels "no pain, no hunger" (479). Though he has "proven everyone wrong," he longs for his friends and his home (479).
In "The Argos: Mission Year 65, Day 325 Inside Vault One," weeks after discovering the Lakeport library "hidden inside the Atlas," Konstance has recorded over 100 scraps of information (483). She writes down Father's stories and her memories. She realizes how the adults relied on Sybil "to comfort themselves" (484). Though she worries she may soon die, she returns to the library and continues searching for answers.
In "Lakeport, Idaho: August 2019," Zeno continues pouring over his manuscript. Marian worries about him and asks for his help entertaining a group of fifth graders. Zeno tells the children about his project. They are enamored by Aethon's story. Their questions and ideas reignite...
