Summary
In Seven, "The Miller and the Cliff," in Diogenes' next folio, the bandits threaten to kill Aethon (179). A "potbellied miller" and his son appear just in time and offer to buy Aethon (179). The men agree. Aethon dreams of "a garden chockablock with roses" (179).
In "Korea: 1951," serving in Korea, Zeno feels "his sense of possibility builds" (183). Then one day, while out on a mission with a private named Blewitt, "the jeep in front of them tears in half" (184). Afterwards, soldiers "wearing the woolen green uniforms of the Chinese," capture Blewitt and Zeno (184). He feels his life ending (184). The soldiers take them to a prisoner of war camp. Zeno remembers the past. After months of imprisonment, Zeno discovers an emaciated man in an isolation box. He has carved the box with Greek inscriptions. His name is Rex Browning.
