Summary
Denise asks Willa if Cheryl is being cold-hearted. Willa, who has been helping Denise whenever she needs to move, says no. Denise says Cheryl barely reacted to the gunshot and Willa says Cheryl is sensible. Willa thinks Denise should be more concerned with how Cheryl feels about Sir Joe as she clearly misses a man in her life. Denise feels that Cheryl has not patience for Denise’s pain. She then tells Willa that she had Cheryl while she was in college and Cheryl’s father does not know about Cheryl. As Willa helps Denise up, Denise tells her she did not realize she was pregnant until it was too late. She did not finish school and Willa says she too gave up school until her children were teenagers. Denise believes that is different because Willa had someone to support her.
