Summary
In Chapter 18, “Caught Red-Handed” (177), Scoob wakes up in the middle of the night and discovers that the RV is moving. He is confused, as they usually do not drive at night. When he wakes up in the morning, G'ma is gone. He finds a note from her stating that they are in Abilene, Texas, and that she has gone out to get supplies and a new map. Scoob eats breakfast and turns on the television. Suddenly, the show he is watching is interrupted by a news briefing. It is an Amber Alert for himself and G'ma, who, the newscaster claims, “is currently under investigation in connection with a string of thefts involving jewelry stores in the Atlanta area” (182).
