Summary

On the eve of her son Max's first day in kindergarten, Jen Dixon sends a fun-but-sassy group email out to all of the other parents in the class. Jen has been essentially forced into the position by her best friend, Nina Grandish, who is in charge of the PTA at the entire elementary school. Jen is on the older side for parents in the kindergarten classroom, as she previously had two daughters -- who are both now in college -- when she was an avid groupie who followed around rock groups. Now she is happily married to Ron Dixon, who operates a local sporting goods store, and Max is their first and only child together. Despite Jen's protests, Max insists on wearing a crazy outfit to the first day of school.
