Summary

In Chapter 8, the kids in Drew’s neighborhood make fun of him when they hear him saying goodbye to Mr. Pierre. Drew just walks away but stops when Wendell accuses Drew of thinking he is better than they are because he attends a “fancy private school” (153). Drew asks Wendell if they really have to be just alike to be accepted. Wendell finally walks away when their mutual friends stop them from fighting.

Upstairs, Drew starts to send a text to Liam, but he erases it.

In Chapter 9, back at school, Drew admits to Jordan that he wonders what the sense is of being friends with Liam because they will not be friends as adults.

When Drew opens his locker, it is full of cupcakes that Ashley has baked him. Drew tells Jordan he does not know how to handle Ashley’s advances either...
