Summary

Page 248 starts from Camino’s perspective. When she gets home from school she has a notification on her tablet, a message from Yahaira with many questions all italicized, and saying they should video chat. Camino tells Tia she reached out to Yahaira. Camino starts crying, as Tia soothes her. She responds to Yahaira, “Hello. Yes. We should talk. [all italicized]” (252).

Page 253 changes to Yahaira’s perspective as she tells the reader how Papi taught her to play chess.
