Idris

Idris is the only city in the world of Alicante. Idris is protected by the Demon Towers that keep demons out of the city. All visitors to Alicante must pass through gates and gain permission to enter the city. Downworlders are not encouraged to visit Idris and demons are prohibited for the protection of the people of the city. Clary and Luke enter the city illegally when they first arrive in Alicante, but this becomes a moot point when Valentine manages to bring down the demon towers and attacks the city with an army of demons.
