Summary

Clary’s mother joins her as she waits on the steps of the Accords Hall to learn what the Shadowhunters will do. Clary apologizes to her mother and speaks to her about everything she has learned since Valentine found them. Clary’s mother Jocelyn tells her story as well. Jocelyn tells Clary that when Valentine came to their apartment, she took the potion to immobilize herself immediately. At first, she was still conscious and aware of what was going on around her.
