Summary

Clary wakes to the sight of multiple funeral fires outside the city. Clary goes downstairs and finds Simon alone in the kitchen. They are soon joined by Aline. Aline feels guilty for what Sebastian has done, so she contacted his aunt to get more information about him. Aline has discovered that the boy calling himself Sebastian was an imposter. Sebastian’s aunt has sent Aline pictures of the real Sebastian, and he does not resemble the Sebastian they know at all. This leaves them wondering about the identity of the imposter.

Clary and Simon go to the Accords Hall to speak with Luke about the imposter. After telling Luke about Sebastian, he tells them how the demon towers were defeated with a rune drawn in demon blood. This seems to confirm the suggestion that Valentine has...
