Summary

Simon wakes in his cell and finds Jace at his cell window. Jace wants to break Simon out, but Simon is afraid that the inquisitor will know it was Jace and use this as evidence of Jace’s disloyalty to the Clave. For this reason, Simon refuses to leave. He asks Jace to supply him with blood.

Clary wakes to find Sebastian outside Amatis’s house. Clary speaks to him and learns that Sebastian has found where Ragnor Fell lives. Clary quickly dresses and leaves with Sebastian despite her promise to Amatis not to disappear anymore. Sebastian takes Clary to a stable where he gets his horse.
