Summary
Vivian returns to the Lily the next morning to find Olive, Peg, and Billy waiting for her. They inform her that her rendezvous with Celia and Arthur was caught on camera, and there are photographs to prove it. Walter Winchell, who owns a number of gossip newspapers, plans to publish the pictures and include Vivian's name in the story. Aunt Peg is drunk and defeated, saying that there is nothing that can be done to fix the situation. Olive, however, orders Vivian to clean up and get dressed. She brings Vivian down to the Stork Club where Winchell is, and demands to see him. She speaks with him about the importance of omitting Vivian's name because she is an innocent young woman who did not know what she was doing.
