Summary
Vivian and Celia begin to get very close, spending nearly every night together. Vivian explains that after the evening performance at the Lily, she and Celia would get dressed up and go out until the wee hours of the morning, usually stumbling home drunk well after 2 AM. This becomes Vivian's typical routine during that summer, but she notes that their exploits did not always go smoothly. She tells an anecdote about having once gone to two men's hotel room with Celia, and when it became clear that all the men wanted was sex, Celia demanded that Vivian leave the room. Celia later came down to the lobby with a black eye, and Vivian swore that she would never leave her alone like that again.
