Importance: Here, the narrator reveals that Simon is not only a vampire, but is dating the daughter of an angel, as well as dating Maia, a female werewolf. Simon can’t help but wonder if Isabelle would be dating him if he wasn’t a vampire, but the same can also be asked of Maia. Simon has never had luck with girls, yet even now dating two girls, he doesn’t seem to be having much luck.
