Chapters 10, 11, 12, and 13 Summary
In Chapter 10, Hodge explains his connection to the Circle, and that of Clary's mother, Jace's father, and the Lightwoods. Luke left the Circle first, which really hurt Valentine, as Luke was his right hand man. Then Jace's father left the Circle, only to be killed by Blackwell and Pangborn. Clary's mom left, but Blackwell, Pangborn, Hodge, and the Lightwoods stayed loyal to Valentine up until the uprising. Hodge was punished for staying with the Circle up until the uprising by a curse that will kill him the moment he leaves the Institute. The Lightwoods were also exiled, but may return to Idris on official business only. Blackwell and Pangburn apparently stayed loyal to Valentine even after his defeat.
